Prenatal Classes in San Jose
Prenatal & Postpartum Support That Extends Beyond Birth
Welcome to Root to Rise
A structured in-person class series designed to support your body, nervous system, and confidence during pregnancy, delivery and after your baby arrives.
This is not just another prenatal class in San Jose
Root to Rise prenatal class is childbirth preparation for pregnancy, birth, recovery, and early parenthood.
Pregnancy education in San Jose often:
focuses heavily on labor, but barely touches postpartum
delivers information without emotional integration
assumes support systems that many families don’t have
leaves parents knowing more but feeling less calm
This can lead to:
anxiety and fear around birth
decision fatigue
nervous system overwhelm
feeling blindsided postpartum
disconnection from your body and intuition
Root to Rise exists because preparation for Bay Area parents should support how you feel, not just what you know.
Created by Dr. Melissa Adrouny OB-GYN in San Jose
With years of experience caring for pregnant and postpartum families, Dr. Adrouny blends evidence-based education with a grounded, welcoming presence. She believes that support and community are not extras — they are essential to healthy pregnancies and postpartum experiences. Root to Rise was created to offer exactly that.
Rather than teaching a single "method," Root to Rise helps participants understand how their body works, how to make informed decisions with confidence, and how to build realistic support systems for the fourth trimester and beyond. Every session is built around three pillars: evidence-based nervous system education, gentle functional movement, and genuine community — because no one should navigate this alone.
Parents who participate in childbirth education show a 20–30% reduction in fear of birth, which is directly linked to improved coping and higher birth satisfaction.

How You’ll Feel After Root to Rise
Grounded — you understand what's happening in your body and nervous system, so you're less reactive and less overwhelmed
Confident — you can ask questions, advocate for yourself, and make informed decisions without second-guessing
Prepared — not just for birth, but for postpartum recovery, early parenthood, and the identity shift that comes with it
Connected — to your body, your baby, your partner, and a community that doesn't end when the series does
Less alone — held by people who are walking the same path at the same time
You may not control how birth unfolds, but you’ll feel steadier moving through whatever unfolds.
This is prenatal education for the whole journey, not just the day of birth.
Each prenatal class is grounded in our signature framework
The Mind, Movement & Village framework supports intellectual understanding, embodied confidence, and meaningful connection.
Evidence- based nervous system support to help you feel grounded & confident.
Gentle, functional movement that meets your body where it is.
Supportive community and care, because no one should do this alone.
